The importance of a good alarm system project.

A good alarm system project is defined by making a good risk analysis of the building. It´s in this phase that you consider the security necessities of the client. In case this analysis is superficial or wrong, the whole project of the system can be harmed. Therefore, this risk analysis is fundamental for the project.

In the assumption that the risk analysis was not done properly, the project may be faulty, being inadequate to the location, to the user or to the type of activity exercised. There can therefore be failures in the illumination , of inadequate sensors, of the lack of sensors in certain areas and the failure of communication signal transmissions, among others. Hence, the responsible will be the alarm system, that in the end, will lose its credibility and value, where as the real problem was in the bad distribution of the necessities existent, or as, the inadequate risk analysis.

It is of extreme importance that the client who is acquiring the alarm system, states all of the vulnerable points of his building, also of occurrences that may have occurred, for that together with the companies consultant they can study the best project for the place.

Sure that the project is related to the financial resources that the client is willing to invest, in this case, the project has to give a complete coverage of the place, without transforming, unnecessarily in a fortress.

For the realization of a good project, the client must study with the company: existent technical resources (technology that will be used- alarms, CFTV, access control, etc.- and products) and the infer-structure of the place (available and exclusive piping where the wiring that connects the sensors to the alarm system will pass). This study must result in a plant projecting the whole system, the way the client understands exactly what will be done

The client also has to be attenuate and demand:

  • Contract of service, equipments and installation materials.
  • Know how long the installation takes and arrange a date and time that is available and that is permitted, in case of condos, to realize the installation.
  • What program will be installed and how it will work.
  • Execute tests of the system.
  • Make trainings with all of the people who reside there.
  • When and in how long will be realized maintenance of the system.

Tips:

  • Verify the qualifications of the company that you are hiring and of other projects already made.
  • Verify the quality of the products that will be bought and installed ( (manufacturer).
  • Certify that a project will be made and if the company has a follow –up (maintenance and monitoring).
  • Every alarm system must belong to a integrated security plan (Equipments, training, rules of conduct, routines, etc.).
